Nintendo is bringing the 1993 Game Boy classic adventure The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening to Nintendo Switch later this year. The re-release is more than just a Virtual Console-style release, it’s a complete 3D “reimagining” of the classic Zelda adventure.

As Link, players will once again return to the island of Koholint for new adventures. While the new Link’s Awakening will retain the top-down — and occasionally side-scrolling — view of the Game Boy original, the Switch remake will use 3D models and employ a stylish, toy-like aesthetic. Check out the trailer above for a taste of Nintendo’s restyled version of an 8-bit classic.

The original Link’s Awakening was Nintendo’s first Zelda game for a handheld device and the fourth in the franchise. First released in 1993, the game was later updated for the Game Boy Color in 1998. It was one of the few Legend of Zelda games to be set outside the land of Hyrule. Link’s Awakening also has ties to the Mario universe, thanks to the inclusion of enemies like Chain Chomp and Goombas.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.
