The Nintendo 3DS just had its best January since 2013 in terms of consoles sold, according to the NPD Group. In the pure amount of dollars shelled out by consumers, it was the portable’s best January since 2014.
Nintendo may be focusing more on the home console/portable hybrid Switch. After-all it has been a huge success for Nintendo since launching in March of last year. At the same time the first big title for the 3DS for 2018 is Detective Pikachu, which comes out on March 23
But there are at ton of fan favorites games out for the 3DS. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon took the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on NPD’s list of the 10 best-selling 3DS games for the January . Those games came out in November, and Pokémon titles have often been on top of the 3DS sales charts. Mario Kart 7, which came out all the way back in 2011, was at No. 3. Plus Atlus keeps pumping out hits for the 3DS.
