Nikon has released an updated version of its free iP-PJ Transfer app. With it, an iPad or iPhone user who has access to a Coolpix S1200pj camera can use that device to project a broader range of content than previously possible. In the past, users were limited to just slideshows and YouTube videos.

The updated iP-PJ Transfer app now enables users to project individual photos and thumbnails as well as slideshows. Websites are also options. The app has also been enhanced with the ability to project documents, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files.

The S1200pj, which began shipping in September, is Nikon’s most advanced projection camera available. It features a 20-lumen pico projector for projecting images up to 60 inches across.

In addition to projecting, the app can now also be used to help transfer documents in both the above formats and JPEG from a computer to an iPhone or iPad, using Wi-Fi or a USB cable
