Nike has released an update to its Nike+ Running app for iOS , adding a new Coach system that aims to help users achieve training goals. The navigation menu now provides four different programs, including 5K, 10K, half-marathon and full-marathon distances, with a choice between three different training levels.
After a distance goal and intensity level are chosen, an automated coach provides training tips and daily reminders for motivational assistance. The interface also enables users to view their progress and take a look at upcoming steps in the current training program.
Nike+ Running 4.5.0 is currently available as a free download from the App Store. The utility is designed to work as a standalone app, without requiring users to pair the iOS device with a Nike+ FuelBand, SportWatch or other accessory.
