Nexus S Now Able to Use Google Talk Video Chat on T-Mobile 3G

When T-Mobile updated its Nexus S smartphone with the Android 2.3.4 update, users were promised they could use the Google Talk video chat service over Wi-Fi and 3G networks. In reality, however, users weren’t able to place video calls over 3G and the feature was only relegated to Wi-Fi networks. Now, it seems T-Mobile has resolved the issue that was keeping it from letting users access 3G networks for the connection.

T-Mobile is now believed to have beenblocking the P2P mode required by Google Talk’s video chat service that’s required for two users to connect. Verizon subscribers were able to use the chat feature over 3G without an issue. There was a need to enable this while blocking other P2P connections that use the same mode. With this hurdle crossed, it’s expected other handsets running on Android 2.3.4 will also have the ability to use Google Talk.
