New Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (AKA Fatal Frame in NA) Trailer Is Not For The Faint-Hearted

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (known as Fatal Frame in North America) launches in Europe on October 30th, and Nintendo has just exclusively given us an early look at a fresh trailer which not only divulges a little more of the story, but also shows how the Wii U GamePad is used to enrich the famous photo-snapping gameplay of the series.

As you can see from the footage, the pad has to be rotated in order to bag the “perfect” ghost shot. This functionality goes a long way to explaining why the game is exclusive to Nintendo’s console.

A limited edition retail version – which includes an artbook, photos and other goodies – will be exclusive to GAME on UK high streets, but can be ordered via the official Nintendo online store.
If you’re still unsure about the game, then you’ll be pleased to learn that a trial version is hitting the Wii U eShop on the day of release. This is free to download and grants access to the prologue and the first two chapters.

The game arrives in North America a little earlier, on October 22nd. It’s exclusive to the Wii U eShop in that region.
