Ford LogoFord is recalling 432,096 vehicles in North America, including the 2015 Ford Focus, C-Max and Escape to fix a defective body control module, the automaker said late last week.

“In these vehicles, it could be possible for the engine to continue to run after turning the ignition key to the ‘off’ position and removing the key or after pressing the engine stop-start button,” Ford said in a statement.

Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries linked to the recall.

The affected 2015 Focus cars were built from June 17, 2014 to June 12, 2015. The affected C-Max hybrid wagons were built from April 22, 2014 to June 12, 2015, while the affected 2015 Escape SUVs were built from April 1, 2014 to June 12, 2015.

Ford dealers will update the body control module software. The recall begins July 20. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.

No information about the recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the U.S.
