Netflix has revealed the trailer and key art for their upcoming film Mascots, from director Christopher Guest (Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind), which will officially debut on the streaming platform on October 13. You can check out the Mascots trailer below, along with the key art!
Welcome to all the drama, intrigue and occasional excitement of the 8th World Mascot Association Championships, where a group of “unusual” men and women, with big heads and furry suits, compete to win the prestigious gold fluffy award and be crowned best mascot in the world.
The Netflix original film stars Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley, Jr., Christopher Moynihan, Don Lake, Brad Williams, Zach Woods, Chris O’Dowd, Susan Yeagley, Sarah Baker, Tom Bennett, Kerry Godliman, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael Hitchcock, Maria Blasucci, John Michael Higgins, and Jim Piddock. The film was written by Christopher Guest & Jim Piddock and produced by Karen Murphy. Mascots will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this September.
This will be Guest’s first feature film since 2006’s For Your Consideration, which broke the fake documentary formula from his previous efforts with more of a straight narrative story. Guest’s most recent effort was the 2013 HBO comedy series “Family Tree,” which starred Chris O’Dowd and was cancelled after one season.
