Netflix and MRC Halts House of Cards Production

After actor Anthony Rapp accused the Oscar winner Kevin Spacey of making advances on him when he was 14 years old, move fallout hits the actr and his Netflix show, House of Cards.

Just a day after announcing that Spacey’s political drama House of Cards will end after the upcoming sixth season, Media Rights Capital and Netflix said they’re shutting down production for the time being.

In a joint statement,they said the following:

“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,”

On Monday, Netflix and MRC issued a statement saying they were “deeply troubled” by the allegations.

News also broke late Monday that Netflix is looking into the possible House of Cards spinoffs, including one centered on star Michael Kelly’s Doug Stamper.
