“I’m still here, chief,” is the message being left today by Frequency, the Gregory Hoblit-directed 2000 high-concept time travel thriller that stars Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid. The Hollywood Reporter today brings word that NBC is developing a television series based on the film and has set “Supernatural” showrunner Jeremy Carver to script.

Originally written by Toby Emmerich, Frequency tells the story of a man (Caviezel) who discovers that his ham radio allows him to communicate with his long-dead father 30 years in the past. Together, the father and son use this power to solve a murder case in two different time periods.

The television version is set up at Warner Bros. Television. Carver and Emmerich will both executive produce alongside Jennifer Gwartz, Dan Lin and John Rickard. As always, check back for updates as they become available.
