Motorola at MWC revealed newly revamped software for Mac and PC users, with Media Link 1.5. At the same time, the company added a number of features to its Motoblur skin for cell phones. The new Media Link software is now available for Mac computers and will ship for PCs in March. It lets users easily transfer multimedia content from iTunes and Windows Media Player onto Motorola handsets.

New Motoblur Features

The new Motoblur features include new location, messaging, music and gallery features, although these new features will not come at the same time.. Connected Music will bring more sharing options as well as make buying music-related content easier. What friends are listening to can be followed, while lyrics will be displayed to users while playing so they can sing along.

The Connected Gallery will sync photos and videos from friends’ Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket, Picasa and other online albums. Users get push notifications when new photos are uploaded. The Aloqa platform is also integrated and will let third-party publishers use a user’s location, identity and social relationships to inform them of sales, events and more through channels a user subscribes to.

Users will still have the ability to locate and remotely erase their lost or stolen devices through Motoblur’s Owners Portal feature.

The new Motoblur interface will arrive at new handsets such as the Atrix 4G and Cliq 2 due out over the next few months.
