Generations introduces new gameplay mechanics including Styles and Hunter Arts that can further refine a very personalized playstyle. Mount monsters from mid-air using the Aerial style or make the most out of the advantageous Hunter Arts abilities with the Striker style. Hunter Arts are visually striking, indispensable combat skills and power-ups that hunters using any style or weapon can equip.

Along the hunter’s journey, players must defend each of the game’s four villages from new major threats—the Fated Four. With hundreds of quests in store, there are tons of challenges to tackle in a solo adventure, and also via local or online play with up to three other hunters.

A brand new Monster Hunter means brand new threats, and new threats means players must adapt to the hunt with new skills. Coming Summer 2016, the recently-announced new action RPG Monster Hunter Generations introduces gameplay mechanics known as Styles and Hunter Arts to allow for an even more visually striking and personalized playstyle than ever before on Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

Each hunting Style opens up different ways to tactically take on foes. Each Style also allows access to different Hunter Arts, indispensable combat skills and power-ups that can be unleashed with the tap of a button when charged, making it easy to execute these special moves.

The four Style options include:

  • Aerial Style – Adds a new jumping ability which allows players to attack from above, opening up more opportunities to mount a monster and potentially knock it down.
  • Guild Style – Classic gameplay for all 14 weapons and will feel familiar to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate players.
  • Adept Style – Rewards players for learning enemy behaviors and performing a counterattack, giving players more tactical dodging and blocking options based on the current weapon type in use.
  • Striker Style – A versatile powerhouse that revolves around building up and unleashing incredibly advantageous Hunter Arts.

Monster Hunter Generations is making its first public playable debut at PAX East (April 22-24) in Boston, MA at the Capcom Booth #3117. Fans of all skill levels are welcome to check out the new game and experience four-player co-op hunting action.
