Mimo has taken its turn at a capacitive USB-powered touchscreen monitor. The Mimo Magic Touch is a 10.1-inch display that can respond to as many as four touch-points at any one time when connected to a Windows 7 computer. For devices running other operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X, it still supports a display-only mode.

The Mimo Magic touch outputs a 1024×600 image with a 300:1 contrast ratio and 200cd/b2 brightness. The company claims the display has a pixel response time of 16ms. It comes with a removable base for portable use

The monitor will be available in two models. A standard model uses the USB connection for both connectivity and power. An AC-powered deluxe version will incorporate a two-port mini-hub for connecting or powering additional USB devices. The standard model, priced at $300, is available now for pre-order and December 12 shipping. The Deluxe model, priced at $330, will begin shipping on December 20.
