Mega Man Battle NetworkMega Man Battle Network 5 has been released on the Wii U Japanese eShop. Both versions of the GameBoy Advanced game, the Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team ProtoMan and Team Colonel versions, are now available for purchase for 702 yen each.

Mega Man Battle Network 5, known in Japan as Rockman EXE 5, has been originally released back in 2005 in North America and Europe. The game is the fifth entry of the Battle Network series and features many of the gameplay features that define the whole series.

In the game players will control the young Lan Hikari as he tries to defeat the Nebula crime syndicate once again. To do so, Lan will have to control Mega Man inside the cyber network where the Blue Bomber will be fighting against a variety of enemies. The Mega Man Battle Network 5 battle system is not all that different from previous entries of the series, with players having to use chips which grant Mega Man a variety of abilities. Like in previous entries, battles in Mega Man Battle Network 5 are played in real time so there’s plenty of fun to be had.

The two version of Mega Man Battle Network 5 include the same content with a few differences. Depending on the version, Mega Man can join a team led by Lan’s rivals Chaud and Protoman.EXE or new characters Baryl and Colonel.EXE. A Western release date has not yet been confirmed but we’ll be sure and let you know what we hear.
