Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man, director of Kickstarter ultra-success Mighty No. 9 and probable denier of Bugs vs. Tanks, has revealed another new game in the form of Azure Striker Gunvolt, a new 3DS eShop-exclusive action-platformer.
Developed alongside Mega Man 9 and 10 studio Inti Creates and due for release this summer in Japan, the game takes Inafune’s pixel art obsession but seems to switch his usual focus on platforming to pure action, with lightning-psychic Gunvolt taking on any number of cranially-explosive baddies in a quest for freedom, or justice, or something.
There’s no word on a western release just yet – but given the man’s profile over here, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see it make an appearance on a digital shop near you before too long.”
