FX’s Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans M.C. premiered on September 4th and today we have learned the premiere broke multiple records.
First off the premiere episode beat the original Sons of Anarchy premiere by 46% in viewership. The premiere averaged 6.8 million total viewers – including three encore runs and digital streaming.
It was the most-watched cable series premiere of 2018, the most-watched series premiere on FX, and the highest-rated basic cable drama series premiere in Adults 18-49 since January 2016.
Set in a post-Jax Teller world, EZ Reyes (JD Pardo) is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now he must carve out his outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his reach.
