Ant-Man_LastDays001This year’s C2E2 convention was fairly quiet in terms of new Marvel announcements, as the company is still keeping a lid on their post-Secret Wars plans this fall. But they did announce several new Secret Wars tie-ins at the show this weekend, as well as a couple promising new ongoing series and an actual release date for the long-gestating Captain America: White. Below is the full list of out what was announced and when you can read it.

Ant-Man: Last Days #1
Creative Team: Nick Spencer & Ramon Rosanas

Release Date: August 2015

While the core Ant-Man series appears to be taking a break during Secret Wars, readers can at least look forward to some standalone comics aimed at filling the void. Following July’s Ant-Man Annual #1 the Ant-Man: Last Days one-shot will hit stores in August. Like the various other Last Days-branded comics, this issue will explore how Scott Lang reacts to the impending end of the world. Marvel teases that an old villain will return in this issue, and that the residents of Miami will respond to the end of the world with a huge dance party.

Secret Wars: Secret Love #1
Creative Team: Various

Release Date: August 2015

If you miss the days when romance comics were a major part of Marvel and DC’s output, this Secret Wars tie-in is for you. Secret Love is a one-shot anthology issue featuring various Marvel heroes takign a break from the chaos of Battleworld to deal with their romantic woes. One of the stories will feature Ms. Marvel and the new Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes, while another will focus on the love triangle between Typhoid Mary, Daredevil and Karen Page.

Miracleman by Gaiman & Buckingham
Creative Team: Neil Gaiman & Mark Buckingham

Release Date: September 2015

It won’t be long before the Miracleman saga is finally complete. Marvel recently concluded their first volume of Miracleman, which collected the entirety of Alan Moore’s run. This September the series will be relaunched as “Miracleman by Gaiman & Buckingham.” Early issues will collect the previously published Gaiman/Buckingham material before transitioning next year into the final, never-before-seen storylines and finally wrapping up a story that’s remained unfinished for decades.

S.H.I.E.L.D. 50th Anniversary Specials
Creative Team: Various

Release Date: September 2015

Marvel has big plans for the S.H.I.E.L.D. franchise in September (including variant covers and a new Omnibus hardcover). They also announced this five-issue, weekly mini-series that will explore different eras and characters from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s history. The issues will include Fury (written by David Walker), Agent May (written by Jody Houser), Mockingbird (written by Chelsea Cain), Quake (written by Matt Rosenberg and Patrick Kindlon) and Agent Carter (written by Kathryn Immonen).

Drax
Creative Team: CM Punk, unannounced co-writer & unannounced artist

Release Date: Winter 2015

Drax was the last remaining member of the Guardians of the Galaxy not to have his own solo series. That will finally change late in 2015. Drax will follow the misadventures of the Destroyer as he stabs and smashes his way across the galaxy. The biggest selling point for this comic is the fact that it’ll be co-written by former WWE star CM Punk (who previously wrote a story in Thor Annual #1 this year). Marvel didn’t reveal the co-writer or artist for this book, or a more specific release window than “Winter 2015.” The previously announced Gamora #1 hasn’t been solicited yet, so it remains to be seen which of the two books will debut first.

Howard the Human #1
Creative Team: Skottie Young & Jim Mahfood

Release Date: August 2015

During the course of Steve Gerber’s classic Howard the Duck run, Howard found himself transformed into the only human living in a city of anthropomorphic animals. That bizarre status quo is making a comeback in this Secret Wars-themed one-shot. Howard the Human follows the intrepid detective over the course of a single day as he pounds the pavement and dodges bullets.

Hank Johnson, Agent of Hydra #1
Creative Team: David Mandel & Michael Walsh

Release Date: August 2015

The final Secret Wars tie-in announced at the show looks at the more mundane side of Hydra life. Curb Your Enthusiasm executive producer David Mandel is penning this one-shot, which stars a humble Hydra agent as he battles Hydra’s HR department and races to pick his kids up from school.

Captain America: White
Creative Team: Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale

Release Date: September 2015

Captain America: White isn’t technically a new series. This latest collaboration between Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale was original announced years ago, but following the publication of the #0 issue, it vanished entirely. It seems Cap fans can finally look forward to the series being completed in the lead-up to the next movie. Captain America: White #1 will be released in September, and hopefully the six issue mini-series will follow a monthly release schedule from that point.
