Major Reshoots Occurring On Chaos Walking

Chaos Walking, Doug Liman’s big-budget adaptation of the Patrick Ness young adult novel at Lionsgate, is reportedly undergoing significant reshoots.

Spider-Man Homecoming star Tom Holland and Star Wars lead Daisy Ridley head up the film set in a world where all women have been killed by a germ and all living creatures can hear one another’s thoughts in a stream of images, words and sounds called Noise. Holland stars as a boy forced to flee his town with his loyal dog who comes upon a strange sight: a girl (Ridley).

Lionsgate is spending between $90-100 million on the movie which wrapped in November and now has scheduled up to three weeks worth of reshoots. Trouble is, because of complicated scheduling issues with both actors the film will likely not be able to do those reshoots until the very end of the year – making its current March 1st 2019 release date an unlikely target.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, John Lee Hancock, Gary Spinelli, Lindsey Beers and Jamie Linden all worked on the script and now Ness himself is reportedly in talks to write the new script pages.
