Tidal Pool has launched an update for its network proxy support app, MacProxy 2.0. The software forwards network traffic from applications that do not offer proxies, and offers simple setups for applications that do have proxy support. New in v2.0 is SSH tunnel support, to prevent potential snooping over Wi-Fi networks when connecting to a remote Mac, along with transparent, non-transparent and connect HTTP/web proxy protocols, a proxy checker and rules based on proxy content.
MacProxy provides secure and anonymous Internet navigation, and allows for browsing the Internet from behind a firewall, as well as tethering a Mac to an iPhone. Users can now make anonymous HTTP non-transparent requests and can use proxy domain names in addition to IP addresses. Under the hood there is 32- and 64-bit OS support, multiple-user support and a FileVault bugfix.
The app requires Mac OS X 10.6. It costs $30, with volume discounts at 10 and 100 copies available.
