LG will show off two ultra-thin LCD monitors at the IFA show in Berlin at the start of September. The 23-inch E91 is just 7.2mm (0.28in) thick but still sports a 1080p resolution. With a bezel at 4.35mm (0.17in), its front is nearly all screen and gives a near-invisible look to the frame.
Its hinge-style design makes it easier for users to adjust the viewing angle. Other tech specs include a dynamic contrast ratio of 10 million to one, 250 nits of brightness, and a 5ms pixel response time.
The D237IPS is also 23 inches in size and, while its thinness isn’t specified, it uses a Film Pattern Retarder 3D display to support passive 3D glasses. It likewise manages a 1080p resolution and 250 nits of brightness in 2D mode. In 3D, it’s rated at 100 nits. Its contrast ratio is a less ambitious 5 million to one. The monitor will convert 2D content to 3D, however. Inputs include DVI-D and VGA.
Launch details aren’t known, though most LG displays ship internationally.
