LG has debuted a much smaller 27-inch TV (TM2792) that it has dubbed the Personal Smart TV. Standing in stark contrast to the rumored 84-inch Sony 4K behemoth, the new 27-inch model uses an IPS panel for better color accuracy and viewing angles and comes with the requisite 1080p resolution. Also notable is its support for DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct and WiDi.

The 27-inch Personal Smart TV also supports LG’s Cinema 3D and Cinema Screen functions and continues the trend towards ultrathin bezels. The smart capabilities of the set extend to its SmartShare gateway on the Home Dashboard that allows users to browse and share files with laptops, smartphones and external hard drives.

The TM2792 also sports a number of interfaces including D-sub, two HDMI ports that are also MHL ready, as well as composite, component and SCART connections. To enable use as a monitor, or to provide better Internet browsing capabilities using the Smart TV functionality, the set also incorporates three USB ports and a LAN port.

LG has not divulged the pricing for the model, but it will get a full reveal at IFA over the next week.
