A phaser a rifle created for Star Trek‘s William Shatner was only expected to bring in $50,000 on the auction block.
They were so wrong. See Phaser rifles were not standard landing party equipment aboard Starfleet vessels, so this was a rare item to won. So when the item hit the block at the Hollywood Legends Auction on Saturday, the prop weapon scored a direct hit of $231,000!
Besides the 2260 phaser rifles slew of TV and movie related memorabilia sales sold suh as: The alien survey buggy from Alien snagged $10,625, Christopher Reeve’s Superman IV costume went for $25,000, and Marilyn Monroe’s Some Like It Hot bra fetched $28,125. Even the custom “Black Beauty” car from 2011′s The Green Hornet nabbed $46,875.
