It was a great premiere for Katie Couric’s new daytime TV series, Katie. Couric’s new show registered the best debut ratings in 10 years, since the 2002 premiere of Dr. Phil.

Nationally syndicated talk show, “Katie” had an impressive 2.8 Household rating, 8 share in the 56 U.S. Metered Markets to lead the pack of new daytime talk shows by huge margins. The premiere of Katie outdelivered the debut telecasts of Steve Harvey”by 87% (1.5/4 on 9/4/12), Jeff Probst by 150% (1.0/3) and “Ricki Lake” by 250% (0.8/2).
Also worth noting, Katie topped the sophomore season premiere of Anderson by 115% (1.3/4).
