warner_brosA John McAfee biopic is in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures. Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood, Man on the Moon) are said to be negotiating to supply the screenplay with the Crazy, Stupid, Love team of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa looking to direct.

McAfee, an anti-virus software pioneer who made millions in Silicon Valley over the past two decades, sold off everything he owned and moved into a fortified compound in Belize. Late last year, McAfee became the subject of a police investigation regarding the murder of a man who feuded with McAfee over his dogs. The dogs were allegedly fed poison and died and the man was discovered dead some time later, murdered exeuction-style.

This past March, Wired writer Joshua Davis published an article titled “Dangerous: An In-Depth Investigation into the Life of John McAfee,” which will serve as the primary basis for the proposed feature film.
