Intel on Friday shook up its executive structure at both technical and formal levels. To reward Dadi Perlmutter’s responsibility for the chip architecture group, he would be promoted to the spot of chief product officer to take up responsibilities given by newly full-time executive chairman Andy Bryant. He would still head up architecture, but would take on a wider responsibility.

In turn, well-known PC Client Group VP Mooly Eden is shifting to become Intel Israel’s president after a desire to move back to his home country. Datacenter VP Kirk Skaugen is taking his place. Diane Bryant, the company’s CIO, will take Skaugen’s place, while IT global ops VP Kim Stevenson would assume the CIO spot.

At more formal levels, worldwide manufacturing senior VP Brian Krzanich is being promoted to chief operating officer. Like Perlmutter, he still keeps his earlier responsibilities but here will take on internal human resources and IT tasks. Krzanich would be taking up other responsibilities from Andy Bryant.

Technology development senior VP Bill Holt would keep his position but report directly to CEO Paul Otellini where he had talked to Bryant before. He and Krzanich would jointly run the Technology and Manufacturing Group that helps link Intel’s designs to their actual construction.
