Huawei today announced the Huawei Fit, a watch-like fitness band similar to the Honor Band Z1, but with a heart rate monitor and additional fitness functions.
It’s designed to work with a companion app called Huawei Wear, available for both Android and iOS. The app logs detailed fitness data and provides GPS data to the watch. In addition to running and cycling training functions, the Fit monitors step count and heart rate throughout the day, and can monitor sleep at night.
The Fit also functions as a smartwatch, with an always-on reflective LCD display and basic smartphone alerts. A backlight automatically activates when necessary. The Fit’s only control is a circular touch screen, which sits in a lightweight, solid aluminum body, with an 18 or 20 mm standard interchangeable strap.
Huawei claims 6 days of battery life. The Fit is waterproof (IP68) and will support swimming functions with an update. The Fit and Wear app automatically recommend specific rest periods after each workout. Wear can also integrate with other fitness services, including Google Fit, MyFitnessPal, and UP by Jawbone.
The Fit is available starting today for $130.
