Jesus Christ Superstar, the live musical isn’t set to air until later this Spring, but here’s a recap handful of details, including the show’s, latest well, superstar.
The Cast
John Legend will star as Jesus alongside the newly announced Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, and the previously revelaed Alice Cooper as King Herod.
The Production Team
Aside from starring, Legend will also serve as an executive producer for the project alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Marc Platt, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Mike Jackson, Ty Stiklorius, and Alex Rudzinski. David Leveaux will also direct.

Premiere Date
Fittingly, the show will air on Easter Sunday, April 1, from the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg.
