HealthKit Apps Start Appearing on App Store

Following the release of iOS 8.0.2, HealthKit-enabled apps are beginning to reach the App Store. One of the first is noted to be FitPort, a dashboard that serves as an alternative to iOS 8’s own Health app. HealthKit was supposed to premiere alongside iOS 8.0, but Apple briefly delayed it citing bugs.

The company in fact meant to open up HealthKit with iOS 8.0.1, but critical bugs that disabled cellular functions and Touch ID were discovered within minutes, and forced Apple to pull the firmware in the space of an hour. iOS 8.0.2 emerged last night, faster than anticipated.
