Google’s Tour Creator Gives You The Power To Create VR Expeditions

Google today introduced Tour Creator, a tool that allows people to create and share their real-world experiences via virtual reality.

Google explains that to make a VR tour people can use their own 360-degree photos and supplement them with imagery from Google Street View. It is easy enough that anyone can put Tour Creator to use.

“The technology gets out of the way and enables students to focus on crafting fantastic visual stories,” explains Charlie Reisinger, a school Technology Director in Pennsylvania.

People can publish their tours to Poly, which is Google’s library of 3D content. Others will be able to view tours shared to Poly via web browser or Google Cardboard.

Later this year, Google will allow people to publish their tours in Google Exhibitions. Tour Creator is free to use.
