mobile search foodGoogle has updated its mobile search tool to make it easier to order food for delivery.

Users who search for restaurants can place orders directly from the search results as long as the restaurant in question uses Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu, or MyPizza.com to make the actual delivery.

The “place order” function is only available from these six providers in the U.S., but Google said it hopes to expand the service over time to more providers and more countries.

The tool is meant to reduce the number of steps it takes for people to order food online, though it also gives Google greater visibility into end users’ food purchasing preferences.
