Google Improves Inbox Search

Inbox SearchGoogle has updated its Inbox application with new search tools that should make certain types of information easier to find.

For example, when searching for a tracking number Inbox will automatically find tracking numbers buried within emails and show the numbers and the corresponding messages at the top of search results. This tool works with details like phone numbers, addresses, order numbers, reservations, and frequent flyer numbers.

Inbox now delivers streamlined search results, too. For example, under the quick answers box users will see a “top results” section that orders emails according to their relevance, followed by all the results in chronological order. Google believes these new tools will save Inbox users time.

Inbox works with Gmail and is free to download from the Google Play Store.
