GiSTEQ hopes the GiSTEQ Explorer will be everything avid outdoor adventurers will want in electronics. First it is a FRM/GMRS 2-way radio with PTT speaker microphone for hands free use.  It also functions as a GPS tracker and has waypoint navigation as well.

The GiSTEQ Explorer has other features many who explorer the outdoors can use such as  a built-in compass and thermometer.  GiSTEQ claims LCD display is easy to see and use even in low light conditions.

We wanted to create a unit that would come in extremely handy for those people who love the outdoors. Like our popular PhotoTrackr, this unit is lightweight and easy to use, but is built to withstand the adventures of your average hiker or outdoorsman. It’s the perfect tool for your adventure quest.” Says Eric Liu, president of GiSTEQ Corp.

Aside from keeping in touch with the hiking or hunting team, GiSTEQ Explorer can also be used as a GPS data logger, allowing trip recording and waypoint tagging, making it easier to navigate the way through the wilderness no matter how far any adventurers may roam.

When connecting the GiSTEQ Explorer to an FRM/GMRS 2-way radio, it becomes a very useful tool for people who are walking along in a group. Group members can easily send real time locations, text message, or waypoints to each other, allowing everyone to know exactly where everybody is at all times, ensuring that no one gets lost. It is also good to note that the live communication feature on the GiSTEQ Explorer does not depend on cellular coverage, allowing anyone to use it even if the cell coverage is spotty.
