Gigabyte already has a couple gaming mice on the market, but the new XM300 marks the first mouse in its new Xtreme Gaming product category that is mostly populated by graphics cards.
The XM300 has a basic design without too many bells and whistles. It has an ergonomic shape and comes with the basic switches we’ve come to expect on a gaming mouse. These are Omron left and right click switches and backwards and forwards navigation buttons, topped off with two DPI switchers. The scroll wheel also clicks.
The mouse has room for four preset DPI levels that can be selected from a total of 50 increments. The sensor powering it all is a Pixart 3988 with a sensitivity of up to 6400 DPI. Gigabyte also tested this sensor to track accurately up to 200 inches per second with up to 50 gs of acceleration.
On the palm area is a G logo that is lit with RGB lighting. You can choose from single colors, a breathing effect with any one color, or a color cycling effect.
The mouse communicates with your PC over a 1.8 meter gold-plated, non-braided USB cable. Included with the XM300 are two extra sets of Teflon slippy pads for when you wear out the originals.
At This time we do not know the pricing and availability of the MX300.
