The creators of classic and arcade style games such as Pac-Man, Xevious, Dig Dug II, Galaxian, Mappy, and The Tower of Druaga are back with a new addition. Namco Bandai Games latest title is a sequel to their previously launched Galaga Legions. The new release Galaga Legions DX, developed by the makers of the Pac Man Championship edition is said to offer an action-packed gaming experience. The game is a remake of its classic version and is available on the Xbox live Arcade.
The title is believed to put players in extreme chaotic regions of space, fighting off Galaga aliens in ten different arenas. Each arena has its own unique features. Players are free to customize the game from a wide selection of skins which also includes the original classic skin. There are options for defensive and offensive maneuvers too. These maneuvers include the focus fire ability which increases the ship’s rate of fire, destroying everything in its path.
Unlike the previous game, the space ship now comes equipped with two satellite guns along with two different modes which are easily switchable by the simple press of a button. The first firing mode allows players to fire in any desired direction while the second mode opens fire on any enemy that attacks the ship when surrounded. Another feature involves firing on a black hole to capture all Galaga aliens. The conquered aliens can then be used by the player at will. These Galaga aliens are however easily destroyed.
The game is a part of Namco Generations, a series of downloadable games which include re-introduced versions of classic arcade-based games to new generation players with creative updates. Galaga Legions DX is available on the Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points and will soon arrive on the PlayStation Network
