Google is currently offering ten Android apps for just $0.10 each, kicking off a new promotion as the search giant counts down to 10 billion app downloads. The ’10 Billion Promo’ is expected to offer a range of different premium apps for the $0.10 discounted price over the next ten days as the company closes in on the milestone.

Apple chose to highlight the iOS App Store’s equivalent countdown by awarding a $10,000 iTunes gift card to the individual who downloaded the 10 billionth app. The promotion helped bring a surge in sales, enabling the company to achieve the goal by the end of January this year. The App Store then reached 15 billion downloads in less than seven months.

Google’s 10 Billion Promo currently includes SoundHound, Asphalt 6, Minecraft, SwiftKey, Endomondo, Great Little War Game, SketchBook Mobile, Fieldrunners HD, Color & Draw for kids, and Paper Camera. The company has yet to announce the app lineup for the next ten days.
