Fairphone has released the first images and details of the Fairphone 2, its new handset due later this year.

Fairphone’s basic pitch is to prove that electronics can be made responsibly with conflict-free minerals and better treatment of those building the phones. The company first launched in 2013 and sold more than 60,000 units of the original Fairphone through 2014.

The Fairphone 2 is modular, which means it should be easy to repair or replace parts. It has a 5-inch full HD display and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Other features include a Snapdragon 801 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

The Fairphone 2 has an 8-megapixel camera, 2,420mAh battery, microSD card slot, and supports two SIM cards. It has Bluetooth, WiFi, and LTE.

Fairphone will begin accepting pre-orders for the phone over the summer and expects to ship in the fall months. The price is approximately $590.
