HTC One M9

We have started to see more and more manufacturers rolling out Android 5.1 to their devices, and today lucky owners of the HTC One M9 in Europe are getting the update. According to a Reddit poster, it appears to be rolling out in the UK as well. The update from Android 5.0 seems to be around 800MB in file size. So you’ll want to definitely be sure you are on WiFi before downloading this update and installing it on your device. You’ll also need to have at least 50% battery before installing it. In case the battery dies before the update is complete.
Many users have been reporting of bad battery life on the update before Android 5.1, but that’s not just on the HTC One M9 either. So hopefully HTC has fixed that with the update to Android 5.1 Lollipop. We shall find out in a few days once more people get the update and start using it.

The update to Android 5.1 isn’t a huge update, in terms of new features. But it’s a big bug fixer. So it should improve performance as well as battery life. Those of you in Europe should be able to pull down the update now. As usual, it’ll likely be a staged rollout.
