A24 will finance and Fox will produce the project which will be shopped to networks soon. Le Guin had given Fox her blessing to turn her work into a series of films, but the adaptation since has been re-envisioned as a television series.
Made up of five novels and eight short stories, the action is set in a fantasy archipelago of hundreds of islands, imperilled by those who use magic to gain power and upset its delicate balance.
