Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick‘s name is mentioned in the song Big Bank by rapper YG , a song that features on the Madden 19 soundtrack.

The lyric that contains Kaepernick’s name has been removed from in-game version of this song.

For those of you that are outside the US or just came out of a coma, Kaepernick  protested police violence and racial profiling in 2016 by first sitting, and then kneeling, during the NFL’s pre-game performance of the national anthem. After opting of out his contract with the 49ers, the next year, has not had another job in the NFL.  In November of 2017, Kaepernick filed legal against the NFL claiming team owners colluded to blacklist him from the sport because his protests upset some fans of the game. NFL and the NFLPA (players union) are right now talking over the proposed Anthem Policy.

This omission was noticed and recorded by a Twitter user yesterday

The original lyric, sung by Big Sean, is “You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick,” but as you can hear above, after “I’m more”  with the reference to Kaepernick’s name edited out just like speaking his name in an NFL licensed product is profanity which must be removed.  After-all you must protect the shield.  Free Speech and Civil Rights Bedamned.
