Lionsgate Premiere (via Fandango) has released the first trailer for Don Verdean, the new religious comedy from director Jared Hess (Gentlemen Broncos, Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynamite). Check out the Don Verdean trailer below!
Biblical archaeologist Don Verdean (Sam Rockwell) is hired by a local church pastor to find faith-promoting relics in the Holy Land. But after a fruitless expedition he is forced to get creative in this comedy of faith and fraud.
Sam Rockwell (Poltergeist, Iron Man 2), Amy Ryan (Bridge of Spies, Birdman), Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows, “Flight of the Conchords), Will Forte (“The Last Man on Earth,” Nebraska), Danny McBride (This is the End, “Eastbound and Down”) and Leslie Bibb (Talladega Nights, Zookeeper) star in the film, which was written by Jared and Jerusha Hess.
Don Verdean opens in theaters and On Demand on December 11.
Jared Hess has also completed the armored car robbery comedy Masterminds, starring Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudeikis, which was originally slated for release this month but was taken off the schedule due to the bankruptcy of distributor Relativity Media.
