arley-hall-pic-2Disney has greenlit England-set mystery adventure “Evermoor,” which will be the first live-action TV movie produced in the U.K. to air on Disney Channel in the U.S. The movie, to be aired in multiple parts, follows Tara Bailey, an American teen who has just been uprooted from her city home in the U.S. and brought to Evermoor, a beautiful but isolated village on the edge of some creepy moors in England.

While Tara’s novelist mom and step-dad are busy unpacking at Evermoor Manor, the Bailey kids, Tara’s brother Jake and her British step-siblings Seb and Bella, try to adjust to life in their new home. It’s not long before danger, mystery and intrigue unfurls, and Tara and Seb have to unite to save their new home and their family’s new start in England.

“Evermoor” will be filmed at Arley Hall in Cheshire, U.K. this spring.

Lime Pictures has been commissioned to produce the TV movie, which was created by Tim Compton and Diane Whitley (both “House of Anubis”), scripted by Bede Blake (“House of Anubis,” “Strange Hill High”), produced by Compton, and executive produced by Rebecca Hodgson (“Good Cop,” “Stolen”).

“Evermoor,” which is set to premiere on Disney Channel in more than 160 countries from the fall, was the network’s “most ambitious” production yet in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, and builds on its experience of co-producing the series “Violetta,” said Tricia Wilber, chief marketing officer for the Walt Disney Company EMEA, and general manager, Disney Channels EMEA.

David Levine, VP, programming, production and strategic development, Disney Channels EMEA, commented: “‘Evermoor’ is a hugely exciting project for the team here in EMEA with a gripping story that I’m sure will captivate our global Disney Channel audience. The movie’s intriguing cast of characters also gives us a great opportunity to find exciting new talent.”
