Invisible flying critters have returned, and it’s your job to collect them and use them to save a tiny world as Nintendo announces The Denpa Men 3: The Rise of Digitoll will be making its way to the United States later this year, launching on the 3DS.

“The Denpa Men 3 is the third game in the expansive RPG series where players catch and form parties with Denpa Men to conquer dungeons and explore a vast world,” reads the official announcement from Nintendo. “In the third iteration, the Denpa Men you are trying to capture can now fight back by throwing colored balls at you, but players have new weapons at their disposal such as an antenna to capture Denpa Men.”

The Denpa Men series offers a few unique mechanics, such as the use of Wi-Fi signals or QR code scans to locate, battle and catch the invisible creatures. Each Denpa Man has its own stats and abilities, meaning you’ll want to pulverize and enslave as many as possible to make the strongest team. If you’ve played either of the previous Denpa Men games, you’ll be able to transfer over your previous army to give you a head start in Denpa Men 3.

There’s also a fair amount of customization, giving players the chance to decorate their Denpa Men’s houses and trade their catches with friends or strangers from around the world. There’s even an in-game shop, letting players buy and sell their own items and Denpa Men for in-game currency.

Finally, what gladiatorial game would be complete without the ability to have your Denpa Men duke it out with the armies of other players across a battle network? Online multiplayer is also up for grabs, as is the ability to take pictures of your adventure and save them to the 3DS memory card.

Look for The Denpa Men 3: The Rise of Digitoll this summer on the 3DS.
