Dell Adds Vostro V131 Based on Sandy Bridge with 9.5 Hour Battery Life

Dell has launched a new Vostro notebook, the Vostro V131. The V131 uses second generation Core i3 and i5 CPUs with integrated graphics, and a 13.3-inch anti-glare 1366 x 768 HD LED display. It has a chiclet keyboard with with three programmable quick launch keys and optional backlight. The V131 also has a full HD camera, digital array mics and built-in Skype for teleconferencing. The chassis is 13 inches wide by 9.4 inches deep and inclines slightly, from 0.63in. at the front to 0.83in. at the rear.

The Vostro V131 has connections galore: two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0/eSATA combo, an 8-in-1 card reader, and Bluetooth v3.0. Video connections include an HDMI out and a 15-pin VGA video connector. Internet is available by RJ45/gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi 802.11n, and the V131 has 3G, WiMax and LTE options. Memory is limited to a single slot that supports up to 2GB 1333Mhz DDR3 SDRAM.

Beginning in September, all Vostro V131 systems sold in the US will receive one month of free website hosting, virtual receptionist service, virus protection and data backup.

The Dell Vostro V131 is available now and starts at $449.
