“Marvel NOW!” kicked off on Wednesday, and now it comes to New York Comic Con. Friday’s “Marvel NOW! Divided We Stand” promises “inside scoops” and conversation about Civil War II and everything post the war”
One of the major topics was Occupy Avengers! Rolling out of Civil War II is Occupy Avengers, starring Hawkeye following his acquittal after he killed Bruce Banner. “He assisted in Bruce’s suicide – that’s how I’m writing it,” Walker said. “He’s on an existential crisis, and he’s looking for himself… but he’s really looking for wrongs to right and injustices to correct, things the Avengers would never tackle.”
“I wanted to explore the injustices happening” outside of New York and Los Angeles, and Walker stressed that this non-powered team of Avengers was very down-to-earth.
Carlos Pacheco is the artist on the first four issues of Occupy Avengers, followed by Gabriel Hernandez Walta in Issue #5.
