David Brevik​, President and COO of Gazillion Entertainment, Will Speak at Unite ’11

Unite ’11, the fifth annual developer conference for publishers using the Unity development platform for games and 3D, has announced that its keynote speaker will be Diablo and Diablo II​ co-creator and lead programmer David Brevik​, president and COO of Gazillion Entertainment. Brevik will address the changes in the game industry, the growth of “social” games, free-to-play business models, download distribution and other topics. The conference features four days of activities.

In addition to Brevik’s keynote, the conference will begin on September 27th with a “Flash Day,” a crash course for Flash users and developers on how to use their skills in Unity development. The conference itself begins the following day, September 28th, and runs through the 30th at the Masonic Center in San Francisco.

Unite ’11 boasts more than 30 sessions featuring Unity experts and programmers, a games showcase, post-mortems on popular iOS and Facebook games, parties, training for Unity educators, advanced technical sessions, a “Road Map and Wish List” feedback session for all Unity developers, lab time with Unity employees, updates on core technologies and the annual Unity Awards.

The conference is offering discounts on rooms at the nearby Parc 55 Wyndham hotel for accommodations, and the conference itself costs $400 to attend
