It looks There Will Be Blood duo of Academy Award-winner Daniel Day-Lewis and director Paul Thomas Anderson are set to reunite, as Variety reports the two have entered negotiations to make a drama set in the world of fashion in 1950s New York.
While no deal is set, Day-Lewis has apparently been in the wings for this movie for some time. Megan Ellison of Annapurna Pictures is on board to produce and finance the untitled project (which still has no studio attached), with six-time Oscar nominee Anderson (Boogie Nights, Inherent Vice) already interviewing “young actresses of Eastern European descent” for supporting roles.
Should Day-Lewis board the project, it will be his first film role since his Oscar-winning part in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln in 2012.
