Star Wars logoIt appears that Star Wars: Episode VII has found its cinematographer and it’s one that should come as no surprise to fans of director J.J. Abrams. The Boba Fett Fan Club (via TheForce.net) reports that Dan Mindel, who previously worked with Abrams on Mission: Impossible III and both Star Trek films, will lens the highly-anticipated big screen sequel. What’s more, they’re confirming that the film will be shot on celluloid (specifically Kodak 35mm stock 5219).

Mindel’s work next hits the big screen with the May 2, 2014 release of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Set to feature a script by Michael Arndt, Star Wars: Episode VII is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes and could feature appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older incarnations of their beloved characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. It is aiming for a 2015 release, although no specific date has yet been named.
