flash-vs-arrow2The CW announced today at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that it has renewed all eight of its major fall shows. To clarify, that means that Arrow, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Reign, and Supernatural will all be returning for new seasons.

“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said The CW’s president Mark Pedowitz when announcing the news. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”

Of the shows mentioned, Supernatural, the longest run of all the series, will be entering its eleventh season, while The Vampire Dairies and Arrow will return for Season 7 and Season 4, respectively. Additionally, The Originals, The 100, and Reign will all be heading into their third seasons, and The Flash and Jane the Virgin, both freshman series, will be back for their second seasons.
