CrossFire Will Have An Film Adaptation

Sony Pictures, Tencent Pictures and South Korean game developer Smilegate are teaming for a film adaptation of the popular first-person shooter video game CrossFire.

The game features two mercenary corporations named the “Black List” and “Global Risk,” fighting each other in an epic global conflict. Players assume the role of a member of one of the teams in an effort to complete objective-based scenarios.

Released in 2007, it recorded $10.8 billion in lifetime sales by the end of 2018, and boasts over a billion registered users from over eighty countries around the world. The global esports league ‘Crossfire Stars’ records an average viewership of 20 million people for each event.

Chuck Hogan is writing the film while Neal H. Moritz (Fast and Furious), Tania Landau and Toby Ascher produce.
