Season one guests included Rob Corddry, D.L. Hughley, Keegan-Michael Key, Bert Kreischer, Marc Maron, Steve Rannazzisi, Joe Rogan and Paul Scheer. Topics ranged from drugs and emergencies to battles and travel.

“‘This Is Not Happening’ is not, not happening. It is happening,” said Comedy Central president of original programming Kent Alterman, who made the announcement.

The series was developed by the cabler’s inhouse CC:Studios digital unit and was the first to receive a linear promotion to an on-air series. (Jillian Bell and Charlotte Newhouse’s “Idiotsitter” followed soon after).

“Honestly, I’m really happy with the way it came out,” added Shaffir. “There are so many crazy talented comics right now. It’s kind of an honor to provide a platform for them to show everybody how great they are.”

Shaffir executive produces the series with Jeff Tomsic, Eric Abrams and Avalon’s Sam Saifer. Anne Harris is the executive in charge for Comedy Central. Shaffir is repped by the Gersh Agency and Saifer.

The eight-episode second season premieres later this year.
